Det var mer än jag visste att mitt företag sponsrade detta. Roligt!
Anglesey (October 16, 2011). There have been four international titles in the world of electric motorbike racing this season – and all of them have been won by the Münch Racing Team, which is sponsored by Brose. Our congratulations to the world champs!
The old and new world champion in the FIM e-Power International Championship is the professional racer Matthias Himmelmann, who won the race in Le Mans on his Münch TTE-2 ahead of the Italian Alessandro Brannetti (CRP Racing) and Ho Chi Fung (Zongshen) from China. The team, which has been sponsored by Brose since 2010, also secured the constructors’ title for the second year in succession.
The competition also had no chance of catching up Himmelmann in the Time Trials Extreme Grand Prix (TTXGP) as he took the European title by a 34-second margin. As champion in the European TTXGP, the Münch Racing Team therefore qualified for the world championships in Anglesey, Wales, last weekend and lined up against the world’s best. Here, too, the team from Würzburg dominated the race and opened up a decisive gap. Matthias Himmelmann captured pole position in qualifying on the Saturday in a time of 1:48.517, ahead of David Hallett and Ho Chi Fung. In the actual race on the Sunday, he turned in a top performance: with a 40-second lead over Ho Chi Fung and a 1.39 time in the final lap, Himmelmann clinched his second world title and also gave his team victory in the constructors’ championship.
With these successes, Münch’s development team proves that engineering expertise from Germany is still state-of-the-art and also world-class in the field of electromobility. We are proud of the performance of the team from Würzburg and congratulate the old and new double world champs warmly!
