The Undecided Senate Races in Mississippi and Alaska

In a race that surprised many political experts, Mississippi Democrat Scott Colom leads Republican incumbent Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith by 49% to 48.9% with 96% of the vote tallied.
Counties have until Nov. 13 to count those ballots and submit results to the state and Mississippi’s Secretary of State must declare results by Dec. 3.
In Alaska, Democrat Mary Peltola has a 637-vote lead over Republican Incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan with an estimated 74% of votes counted.
It could take days or weeks to calculate the rest of the vote.
The deadline to tabulate all ballots is Nov. 18, which marks the beginning of ranked choice voting if it is needed. The state sets Nov. 25 as its "target date" for confirming election results.
