2669174 Identiska regler 2006
Jag hittade det här på ett forum (ska se om jag kan gräva mer):
"Regarding the WSBK Rules:
At present the World Superbike grid allows engines prepared to three standards. The ubiquitous four-cylinder 1000cc bike is allowed less modification that the three-cylinder 900cc Petronas or the 1000cc twin-cylinder Ducati.
The Ducati 999 twin, exhausts the possibilities afforded to twin-cylinder 1000cc machines. The Ducati, like the Petronas 900cc triple, is allowed unlimited inlet diametrer and alternative throttle bodies along with other freedoms. Basically, then, the Japanese 1000cc fours compete with moderately improved production engines against radically modified twins.
is that enough....I have more:
Ducati engineers say that the 999 is on the ropes as far as development is concerned. In order to compete against 1000cc fours Ducati not only needs to take full advantage of compensations in the current regulations, they also must take full advantage of the Magnetti Marelli electronics package that they share with Desmosedici MotoGP machine.
more?
Recent statements from Honda and Yamaha executives in the World Superbike paddock indicate that there is general acceptance of the homologation of a 1,200cc Ducati twin. Carlo Fiorani of Honda Europe said at the Valencia World Superbike round, “We understand that Ducati intend to replace the 999 with a 1,200cc twin and that they want to race this bike. This makes sense as long as the rules which currently give more preparation freedom to twins are no longer applied and that Ducati race their 1,200 twin under rules that are fair.”"
