Enligt Julian Ryder finns det tre möjligheter:
"The first, hereinafter referred to as the rational option, is that he simply wants assurances from Honda that he will have competitive equipment that will allow him to challenge for the title next year. As Dani's mentor Alberto Puig will be running Repsol sponsorship on his 125/250 team next year whether they use Hondas or KTMs it would seem unlikely that Dani is going to split with Repsol. Would the Spanish company have recently renewed their sponsorship if there was a chance of Dani not doing likewise? Probably not.
The second option, the cynical one, is that it is about money. Most people's view of Dani is that he doesn't care whether he's riding for $100 or $1,000,000 as long as he can win. Alberto Puig is no doubt on a percentage but as the man is independently wealthy and as fixated on winning as it's possible to be, it is unlikely that cash is the problem.
The third option, and it's such a wonderfully wacky conspiracy theory I have to share it with you, is that Dorna need to keep their Spanish TV viewing figures up so are willing to finance a full-factory Ducati for Dani to be run next year out of the d'Antin garage. Told you it was a good one."
Synd att det tredje alternativet är mer önsketänkande än något annat. Hade varit otroligt spännande att se Pedrosa och Stoner på likadant material.
