Pedercini Kawasaki has hinted that it is close to a deal that will see Alexander Lundh and Simone Grotzkyj ride its ZX-10R in the World Superbike Championship next season.

Issuing a press release to reflect on a 2012 season that yielded top ten finishes at World Superbike level and a title-challenge with Bryan Staring in the Superstock 1000 Cup, Pedercini goes on to reveal Lundh and Grotzkyj as its intended line-up for next season.

Lundh's inclusion in the line-up comes after he pariticpated in the final four events with Pedercini Kawasaki, the Swede coming on board as the replacement for Leandro Mercado. In that time Lundh, who has credits in World Supersport and Moto2 competition, notched up four 14th place finishes.

Grotzkyj, meanwhile, has spent much of his career in the 125GP championship, his best season coming in 2011 when he scored a best finish of eighth on the way to 16th position overall. This year he raced a part-season in Moto3 with Ambrogio Next Racing.

Currently sourcing the budget before officially confirming its rider line-up, Pedercini also signalled its intentions to run an unchanged team at Superstock 1000 level with Staring, who won three races on the way to third overall in 2012, and Mercado.

Ser vi Neo-tysken i WSBK igen? 1199a isf. Hoppas han kan hitta formen han hade på Suzuki innan kraschen.

Hade gärna sett Tommy Hill i WSBK, men han lägger hjälmen på hyllan.

"It is with great sadness that I will be deciding to have a break from the sport in 2013..." - Tommy Hill.

Han är väl inte så gammal? Typ strax under 30? Varför tar han paus, pengabrist eller är han skadad?

TOMMY HILL TAKES A BREAK FROM THE SPORT

"It is with great sadness that I will be deciding to have a break from the sport in 2013. After a yet another hard fought year. I have been trying long and hard over the last few months to make a step up in the sport, I have started to realise the difficulty and what funds it takes to allow me to excel from my current position and move forward with my career. I have spent several years now riding at my current level, and sacrificing everything. "Winning the title last season I hoped would have given me the opportunity to secure a ride in a higher tier. Over the last few years we have seen the British Superbike Championship grow in stature and gain a bigger following, but there comes a point in anyone's life when they want to move forward, or feel they need to have a break from whatever they are doing in life. As you may know I have sustained some big injuries over my years of racing and have missed only one racing season since I was 7 years old. "To succeed at some things in life you have to be selfish, or some may say driven, and for many years of my career I have been just that. Eat, sleep, drink racing. From the time the alarm goes off, I'm training, dieting, putting unnecessary pressure on myself at times, not to do things until I get a result. Basically revolving every day to day activity around my racing. I have or may take my racing too seriously at times, and have always made my racing come first. But there comes a point when we may all need to take a step backwards and realise there is more to life…"

Looking forward, this may come as a shock to a lot of people, supporters and fans out there. But I really hope I can keep involved in the sport throughout 2013, either with a Championship, or manufacturer, passing my knowledge over, or doing some track-days and see what can potentially happen in 2014!."

"In the foreseeable future, I will continue with my design business (Imagedzign) give tuition on track-day's and possibly continue to keep in contact with race teams, and riders within the business over the next year. And basically enjoy my off season and try to relax a bit…Once again a massive thanks to all my supporters out there, every, race, dealer, track-day or promotional event I have attended this season has been great, and have always had a fantastic reception. A huge thank you to my fans my team and all my sponsors for their continued support throughout 2012."

Hoppas Guintoli får köra RSV4an.

Aprilia is close to confirming whether or not Sylvain Guintoli will join Eugene Laverty in the factory Aprilia team for 2013.

Speaking to GPone.com at the Milan show this week, the Italian manufacturer's racing head, Gigi Dall'Igna, described Guintoli as a 'reasonable choice' to team up with Irishman Laverty in next year's World Superbike Championship.

“He could be a reasonable choice to partner with Laverty,” said Dall'Igna.

“I repeat: everything will depend on what we decide in the coming hours.”

Dall'Igna also confirmed it was possible Aprilia would only run one rider next season.

“That is one possibility... We want to be present in the championship with adequate numbers and representation.

“We are still making our final decision. We have enough bikes available to make whatever choice we want, but we just have to figure out the make-up of the team.”

Dall'Igna reiterated that Aprilia's offer to Red Devils Roma remained on the table, when the team could run as a satellite outfit with Althea Racing.

“If we don't reach an agreement, it will be an mistake,” he said.

“It isn't easy to reach a deal, but certainly having a team on the level of [Genesio] Bevilacqua's (Althea Racing) would be a positive thing.”
