SV650 race series

It depends...8)...isn't that always the answer.

If they ever decided to run both the Sprint and the GP format as discussed in the first post in this thread, you could still make a set of tires last for a while weekend if not 2, depending on how fast and safe you wanna be. Back in the day on my ol' Hawk GT 650 in LW superbike back in the states I would run 3 races a weekend plus practice on one set of tires. (unless it rained) But then again...I was a mid-packer. I didn't have enough natural talent and I didn't race long enough to work my way up the field against the real experienced guys who were cherry picking the noobs.

We could also make this series cheaper by NOT having qualifying. (This is the way they did it in the LRRS racing series back home) The grid positions were determined by when you signed up and paid your race fees. Pre-pay and you move to the front of the grid. This also helped to get the grids filled because there was an incentive to sign up early...plus you get a good mix of slow & fast guys. This also saved money on burning up tires and time in qualifying laps.

As far as replaceable parts...I can buy stuff like pegs and levers in the states for common jap bikes for as little as $5 for a lever. (Of course these are not genuine zook parts but who cares when its a racebike) This is one of the reasons I dumped the Aprilia RS. Replacing brake levers and rearsets cost me a fortune.

B-license if I remember correctly cost me something in the range of DKK 1500-2000 kr. to get. I think it was only around DKK 1000 to renew each year.

Race Fees

Actually...how much does it cost here in SE (typically) to sign up for a race?

If you already have a B-license (one obtained in DK but from what I understand I can use it anywhere in scandanavia) and wanna sign up for a race in SE, besides the race fee, is there any other fees or clubs one needs to join in SE in order to race?

I remember back home, depending on what body was sanctioning the race, you had to sign up for an annual membership with the AMA. (American Motorcyclist Association) or you weren't aloud to race even though you have a license and paid the race fees.

In order to get a license in sweden You have to join a club thats connected to svemo. Usually thats only a 2-300 SEK/year. After that, the fee for the license is 2600 this year. Race fee is normally between 1200-1800, depending on wich track and organizer it is. LMS takes rookieracing seriously and only charges 700 for their autumnrace, I believe. On some events we have to pay extra for electricity, 100-400 SEK, but thats not at every track.
