I think I'm gonna write a nice letter to SVEMO this weekend. But before I write a letter, I wanna see what the interest level is in such a series. The idea would be:

1 - Lightweight Twins Series (open to any liquid cooled twin between 500 - 700cc) and any aircooled twin (700cc-1000cc) - maybe we could get some buells in this thing. :)
2 - B license racers only
3 - Only mods allowed (other than those for saftey of course) would be:
a - Performance streettires
b - Steel / Kevlar brake lines
c - Brake pads
d - Rearsets (pegs)
e - Exhaust system (full or end can if it passes db requirements for the track)
f - Racebodywork
g - Lap timers and clocks can be added/replaced if you want
h - Rear shock & spring
i - Fork internals, however the fork "Bodies" must be stock. (No swapping the front ends for an 05 Gix 750!!!!)
j - Can remove/hack off anything on the bike that is not necessary however you cannot replace subframes or gas tanks or anything like that with lightweight materials. (no carbon gas tanks or aftermarket subframes)
4 - 2 seperate race formats:
a - SPRINT - race format of 15 laps
b - GP - 30 minutes as many laps as you can get

That's it. Everything else is stock. Minimum rules...no minimum weight limits, no horsepower limits (although tampering with any engine internals is a no-no)

If you agree with this format, let me know by adding your name to this list. If you have any suggestions, changes to the formats...add em to the thread. Also, include your lån info so I can see how many are in each location. If we get enough, how could SVEMO say no? Again...apologies about the english...but I got a real hard-on for a series like this...got a son on the way and I'm looking for a good family hobby and getting back into racing would be perfect.

Got your point...

Got your point EZ...

But hell if SVEMO won't do it...without bumping other classes and pissing folks off...then why not start our own organization? Can't a club organize it's own series? If SVEMO turns it down but there's enough interest in this type of thing...maybe something could be organized not to compete with SVEMO events...but to run parallel...to offer more choice.

If only 3 guys reply...then I'll just drop the idea and leave it at that and go look at ERF, supermono, or bite the bullet and run the 600 series. But if there's a lot of interest...I believe in give the people what they want.

Do you only want people who would be ready to join a new class right away or also people who haven't taken up roadracing yet?

It's a bit too late for this season. But what I'd like to do is hit up SVEMO over the winter if we get enough guys. If they say no, shop it around to some other clubs/organizers and see if we can do something on our own.

Also, would love to take up HY on his offer to run a race for us if we can get 10 guys.

So at earliest it would be sometime next spring. Which would give guys without a license to get one. (Around April'sh you'll see classes for licenses...the danes run a nice 1 week France event to get your B license in April/May each year) Plus that'll give folks the winter to get a racebike together, some spare parts for crashables, maybe an extra set of wheels for rain...wammo...you'll be ready.

So if you aint got a license now...start finding out when/where to get one and get signed up.

Weren't there a Battle of Twins series in Sweden some ten years ago? If so, why did "they" stop running it?
