Ja, en liten hälsning i all välmening.
Nu har vi alla en anledning att korka upp en pilsner och skåla för St. Patrick ikväll!
Tänk på att den skall vara GRÖN!
"The Chicago River flows green on St. Paddy’s Day. Ireland has long been called, “The Emerald Isle” because of the lush green color of its country side. This is due to the large annual rainfall for the island.
However, back in the 1960’s, pollution control inspectors used colored dye to try to track the source of pollution. Someone noticed that one of the dyes was green in color and Chicago citizens agreed that because green is the Irish lucky color, they should release green dye and turn the Chicago River green to honor the Irish on March 17th. And so, this has been a Chicago tradition since 1962.
Of course, green dye in beer on St. Paddy’s day has long been a tradition. My advice...drink the beer rather than a glass of water from the Chicago River.
