Sources close to Crash.net have reported that former World Superbike Renegade Koji Ducati rider Noriyuki Haga has signed for the Yamaha Italia WSBK team for 2005.
Haga who has a long standing history with Yamaha after riding for the factory in both World Superbikes and MotoGP, reportedly signed the deal only last night to join the factory Yamaha effort in World Superbikes next season.
A similar bike to the one he will be riding made a unique appearance at the final round of the 2004 championship in France. The Yamaha France prepared R1, piloted by Sebastien Gimbert, made an impressive debut by qualifying fourth and taking two fourth places in the races.
It is in no doubt that this machine will be competitive next season, and with Haga on board, who was in with a chance of the taking the riders title up until the penultimate round of the 2004 championship, Yamaha are likely to make a regular return to the top of the score boards next year.
Crash.net sources also indicated that Andrew Pitt, who rode for the Yamaha Italia World Supersport team this season for the final few rounds, will join Haga in the Superbike team.
ingen R7:a men det kanske blir bra ändå?
