CE:If you did no motorsport whatsoever - no cars,no bikes,nothing-what would you be doing?
VR: Ha! maybe a car thief
CE: A car thief?
CR: Yes.Because it would have a lot of pressure and good adrenalin.I think! I am very lucky to find this sport,for sure.But i think it would be difficult for me to be a car thief,because everyone knows me...but the stories would be great!
CE:We heard you had some problems with the police after the GP at Laguna Seca in the States. What happend?
VR:On Sunday night we were going somwhere to carry on the party and we go very slow,like 20kmh,looking for the name of the street.So then the police arrive - woo!woo!The man says "give me your license" i say "ok but why?" And he says "you go too slow!" if you go fast its too fast if you go slow its too slow.
CE:You ever been arrested anywhere?
VR: No
CE:Just checking
VR: When we were very young, there was a small scooter damage problem,but I was never in jail!
CE:OK,whats your favourite car?
VR: The Porsche GT. I was always a big fan of Porsche - the GT is my favourite car, for sure because it is so near to a racing car.I am lucky because it is possible for me to have another more comfortable car,but the Porsche is the best.
CE: I took you to Vegas after Laguna,so if I come to London what are we gonna do?
VR: Its completly different,for sure - theres not enough space for the hummer limousine in London!But London has some good places.A good place is China White,where we always go.Its a disco but its not too big,not too crazy.Its good fun and has a good restaurant!
CE: Is there anything you cannot ride? Like speedway,trials ..something you havent tried?
VR: Ive never done trials,speedway yes,for sure,and the rest more or less.From motorcross to supermotard,two stroke,four stroke...
CE: You can ride it all...
VR: Yes,just not trials.So why did you decide to change from motorcross to road racing?
CE:I started motorcross when i was 3 and for years it was the same. When i was a kid i used to come home from school and it was always like "change the air filter,wash the clothes.."it was like work.so i finished!then after two years of living a normal life it was like "enough! I need to do something with two wheels!" So i started road racing.
VR:Oh yeah? You stopped riding for two years?
CE: For two years I stoppeed completely.From 14 to 16.So,if you could change anything about you,what would you change?
VR:I have a lot of problems with time.I am always getting delayed and always to slow to get eveywhere-except on my bike.So if it was possible, I would change this aspect.Life is too short.We need a double life - id like to live to 160 or 170 years old.
CE: If there was any woman,alive or dead,who you could go on a date with,who would you choose?
VR:More than one! There are a lot,but I think I am always in love with Angelina Jolie - so I continue in that way!
CE:When you see your fans dressing up like you -with the wigs and everything - like at Donnington and Motegi,what do you think?
VR: I think they are crazy.This is a big problem for me-all my life ive had a lot of fans,so its not possible for me to have a normal life and its getting more and more difficult. Im happy because it means I have a lot of big,big fans,but the way it was at Donnington and Motegi was a little bit to much. Im scared!
CE:Whats the absolute best place to party?
VR:Ibiza. Its possible to do anything and have a lot of good parties on the beach with not a big problem.A lot of freedom,just relaxing.
CE:One day racing will be over,you'll be married..how many kids do you want?
VR: (LONG PAUSE) Yes...for me,one maybe is enough,maximum two.
CE: Yeah,for me two is enough...ive finished!
VR: I follow your decision.I think more than two is a disaster!Yeah..too much.
VR: A lot of people say when you have a child you go slower by half a second.Do you agree?
CE: I know what you mean. Also usually,when you get married you loose half a second,then when you have a kid you loose another half a second,so your always loosing time.But when i got married in 99,I won the WSB championship in 2000.
VR:Yes,yes,ok. So its not a problem?
CE: In 2002 when i found out Alaysia was pregnant and we were going to have a kid,I won all nine races after that in superbikes. Some people say "now hes got a family he'll roll off the gas and protect himself" but for me,now I have everything.So now is the time to go with the gas!
VR:Yes,thats it!
CE: Right now I have everything I want...
VR: Do you feel like me that the feeling in our team is getting better and better? Everybodys working together ,including us two. It gives me a lot more motivation.Is it the same for you?
CE: Exactly the same. When you have a normal team,its more like two teams in one and they dont get along.When you have two riders that get along,like in this team,eveybody talks..its easy.The motivation to go forward especialy when we give similar comments.. 'this tyre is bad' or 'this shock is good' or 'this front fork i like' - when you can step forward together its easy.You enjoy coming to the track.
VR: Yes its getting a lot better and is like ...for me before it was like a job,and now is better.Now is like a lot of fun.
