Don Quixote
Nordic BoTT 2010
Long-time fans of the series might be wondering what exactly is going on with Scott Russell racing this weekend at Daytona. It was widely reported after his start-line crash here in 2001 that Russell had cashed a career-ending check from his insurer which "put paid" to his racing career, as the Brits say.
And, yet, Russell is here at his racing home, Daytona, and is racing. Well. He's practicing, which may have been an important designation.
Russell has been negotiating with his insurer all week, hoping to hammer out a pact which would allow the Georgian to race the Superstock event.
About a half an hour ago, Russell was standing by the fax machine in the press room for a while. He was smiling after sending and then getting several faxes.
Things look good.
